AGV interprets the new definition of automation

  AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) is also known as unmanned guided vehicles, automatic guided vehicles, and laser guided vehicles. Its notable feature is unmanned driving. The AGV is equipped with an automatic guidance system, which can ensure that the system can automatically travel along a predetermined route without manual piloting, and automatically transport goods or materials from the starting point to the destination. Today, AGV has become one of the key equipment in modern automated logistics systems. It is powered by batteries and equipped with automatic navigation devices such as electromagnetic or optical. It can independently and automatically address, and complete unmanned driving and operations through computer system control.

  Automatic guided truck is an effective means of logistics transportation in today's flexible manufacturing system and automated warehousing system, and it is also the first simple and effective method of automatic material transportation in the logistics field. Unmanned electric vehicles use automatic transportation systems to move goods and deliver goods to their destinations efficiently and reliably without interfering with each other. As an emerging equipment in the field of logistics equipment, the use of automated guided vehicles greatly reduces people's labor intensity, improves logistics operation efficiency and service quality, and reduces logistics costs.

AGV with full advantages

   (1) High degree of automation: controlled by computer, electronic control equipment, laser reflector, etc.

   (2) Charging automation: When the power of the AGV trolley is about to run out, it will send a request instruction to the system to request charging, and automatically go to the charging place to "queue" for charging after the system allows it.

Various forms of AGV

   AGV has a history of 50 years since its invention. With the expansion of application fields, its types and forms have become diverse. As far as AGV is concerned, when we classify, we usually can be divided into automatic transport vehicles, automatic trailers and automatic forklifts. In addition, according to the different guiding methods, it can be divided into electromagnetic guidance, laser guidance, visual guidance, etc. A variety of AGV forms.

  1, electromagnetic induction guided AGV

Electromagnetic induction guidance is generally to bury wires on the ground along a pre-set travel path. When high-frequency current flows through the wires, electromagnetic fields are generated around the wires. Two electromagnetic sensors are installed on the AGV symmetrically. The difference in the strength of the electromagnetic signal can reflect the extent to which the AGV deviates from the path. The AGV's automatic control system controls the steering of the vehicle based on this deviation, and continuous dynamic closed-loop control can ensure the AGV's stable and automatic tracking of the set path. This electromagnetic induction guided navigation method is currently used in most commercial AGVSs, especially suitable for large and medium AGVs.

  2, laser guided AGV

This kind of AGV is equipped with a rotatable laser scanner, and a laser positioning mark with a highly reflective reflector is installed on the wall or pillar along the running path. The AGV relies on the laser scanner to emit a laser beam and then receives the reflection from the surrounding positioning marks. After returning the laser beam, the on-board computer calculates the current position of the vehicle and the direction of movement, and compares it with the built-in digital map to correct the position, thereby realizing automatic transportation. At present, the application of this kind of AGV is becoming more and more common. And based on the same guiding principle, if the laser scanner is replaced with an infrared transmitter or an ultrasonic transmitter, the laser-guided AGV can be changed to an infrared-guided AGV and an ultrasonic-guided AGV.

  3, vision guided AGV

  Vision-guided AGV is a rapidly developing and mature AGV. The AGV is equipped with CCD cameras and sensors, and the on-board computer is equipped with an image database of the surrounding environment of the AGV's path to travel. During the driving of the AGV, the camera dynamically obtains the image information of the surrounding environment of the vehicle and compares it with the image database to determine the current position and make a decision on the next driving. Since this kind of AGV does not require any physical path to be set manually, it has the best guidance flexibility in theory. With the rapid development of computer image acquisition, storage and processing technology, the practicality of this kind of AGV is becoming stronger and stronger.

In addition, there are various forms of AGVs such as ferromagnetic gyro inertial guided AGV and optical guided AGV.

  AGV is active in a wide range of fields

  B. Warehousing

  The warehousing industry is the earliest application place of AGV. At present, there are about 20,000 AGVs of various kinds operating in 2,100 large and small warehouses in the world. It is understood that the Haier Group’s development zone three-dimensional warehouse put into operation in 2000 used 9 AGVs to form a flexible automatic handling system in the warehouse, and successfully completed 23,400 daily inbound and outbound goods and parts handling tasks.

  B. Manufacturing

   AGV has shown its skills in the production line of the manufacturing industry, efficiently, accurately and flexibly to complete the material handling tasks. And a flexible logistics handling system can be composed of multiple AGVs, and the handling route can be adjusted in time with the adjustment of the production process, so that a production line can produce more than a dozen products, which greatly improves the flexibility of production and the competitiveness of the enterprise. At present, AGV has been widely used in the manufacturing and assembly lines of major automobile factories in the world, such as GM, Toyota, Chrysler, and Volkswagen.

  C. Post office, library, port terminal and airport

In post offices, libraries, docks, airports and other occasions, the transportation of goods has the characteristics of large changes in workload, strong dynamics, frequent adjustments of operating procedures, and single handling process. AGV's parallel operation, automation, intelligence and flexibility The characteristics of chemistry can well meet the handling requirements of the above-mentioned occasions.

  D. Tobacco, medicine, food, chemical industry

  In the tobacco, medicine, food, chemical and other industries that have special requirements for handling operations such as clean, safe, and pollution-free, the application of AGV is also valued. Many domestic cigarette companies use laser-guided AGV to complete the handling of palletized goods.

  E. Hazardous locations and special industries

   In the military, it integrates other detection and disassembly equipment based on the automatic driving of AGV, which can be used for battlefield demining and position reconnaissance. In steel plants, AGV is used for charge transportation, reducing the labor intensity of workers. In nuclear power plants and places where nuclear radiation is used for preservation and storage, AGVs are used for the transportation of goods to avoid dangerous radiation. In the film and film warehouse, AGV can accurately and reliably transport materials and semi-finished products in a dark environment.
